Magic Kingdom 101
The Magic Kingdom is the original Walt Disney World Park and full of magic and adventure. Magic Kingdom comprises of 6 lands all surrounding Cinderella Castle. Each land is uniquely themed with attractions, restaurants & shops.
They are: Main Street USA, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Liberty Square, Adventureland and Frontierland.
Here is a quick breakdown of what you can find in Magic Kingdom:
Main Street U.S.A.:
Main Street, USA is the charming and nostalgic entry point to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. This picturesque street serves as the gateway to the magic, transporting visitors to a bygone era of small-town America, inspired by Walt Disney's own childhood memories. Lined with Victorian-style architecture, trolley tracks, quaint shops, and classic eateries such as Casey’s Corner Hotdogs, Crystal Palace and Main Street Confectionery. You can meet Mickey at the Town Square Theater or catch the Dapper Dans barbershop quartet singing along Main. This is also where you can rent strollers, wheelchairs or stash your things in a locker.
Adventureland:
This tropical-themed area is inspired by remote jungles and far-off places, bringing to life the spirit of adventure. Here, guests can set sail on the classic Jungle Cruise, ride Pirates of the Caribbean, soar on Aladdin’s Magic Carpets and catch a show at the classic Tiki Room. Grab a fan favorite Dole Whip at Aloha Isles or eat some adventurous cuisine at Skippers Canteen.
Frontierland:
Explore an old Western frontier town and take a ride on Big Thunder Mountain – the wildest ride in the wilderness! Keep an eye out for the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening the summer of 2024, a long with a refreshed Country Bear Jamboree. When you need a break from the action, head over to Tom Sawyer’s Island or hop on the Walt Disney World Railroad at the Frontierland Station.
Liberty Square:
This colonial American themed land is home to one of our favorite attractions – The Haunted Mansion. Check out the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, ride the Liberty Square Riverboat or make a reservation for some Thanksgiving eats at the Liberty Tree Tavern.
Fantasyland:
Transport yourself to the whimsical and enchanting villages of Fantasyland – and home to the iconic Cinderella Castle. You can meet your favorite Disney Princesses, fly over London on Peter Pan’s Flight, catch some thrills on Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train, and spin around on the Mad Tea Party teacups. Its a must do for the young and young at heart.
Tomorrowland:
Tomorrowland is a nostalgic look to what the future could be. Ride on the iconic Space Mountain, drive your own car in the Tomorrowland Speedway, enter the grid and ride a lightcycle in TRON, or take a relaxing ride on the People Mover.
Fast Tips:
• Most crowded between 10-noon
• There are several ways to get to the Magic Kingdom, Car, Bus, Boat & Monorail. If you go by car, Uber or good-neighbor resort bus you will park at the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC) where you will then go through security and take either the monorail or ferry boat to the front gates.
• Guests staying on Disney Property can arrive at Magic Kingdom 30-60 minutes before official opening (this is called “Rope Dropping”). This will allow you to have the shortest waits for rides, especially helpful if you do not plan on using Genie+. Park hours can change, be sure to check park hours prior to visiting here.
• Rope Drop only allows you access to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland attractions, the rest of the park is accessible at park opening.
•’Happily Ever After’ Fireworks are displayed nightly in front of Cinderella Castle. Check showtimes in your My Disney Experience App but they happen around 8:30pm. We recommend you grab your seats at least 30 min early.
• Alcoholic beverages are only sold at table-service dining locations
• Many of the restaurants offer plant-based and special dietary requests
• Each park offers lockers for storage. The locker storage does not transfer if you hop to another park later in the day (you would need to pay twice).
• Stroller & wheelchair rental is available at all Walt Disney World Parks
